
Korto graduated from L’academies des Couturiers Design Institute in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, after relocating there in 1990 due to the coup in Liberia. To further her experience, she auditioned for and secured a spot on the fifth season of Bravo’s Emmy-nominated show Project Runway. Throughout the competition, Korto’s signature use of color and her diverse approach to prints, styles, and presentations made her a standout contestant. Her vibrant personality resonated with the audience, earning her the “Fan Favorite” title and ultimately securing her the position of 1st runner-up.
Her career highlights include headlining numerous fashion shows around the globe in locations such as Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, Honduras,Canada, and Liberia. Korto was commissioned by Alice Walton to create uniforms for the staff at The Crystal Bridges Museum, showcasing her talent for designing for individuals of all shapes and sizes. Additionally, she served as the “Cheerios ambassador” for the Shoprite Partners in Caring “Knock Out Hunger” campaign and continues to dedicate her time and skills to various charitable and philanthropic efforts.
